COINBASE SET TO LAUNCH A BAYC THEMED MOVIE TRILOGY.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club are all set to go mainstream with the launch of their new three-movie franchise called “The Degen Trilogy.” This is in partnership with the Crypto exchange Coinbase .As one of the top NFT projects of all time-BAYC creators-Yuga Labs are apparently by all means trying to pump the popularity of the project through this movie.
The film is set in the 2020s in a chaotic Midtown Manhattan. The prologue says “for the first time, digital goods and services have outpaced all other indicators as a measure of value in the market.” It goes on to say that, “As the old system crumbles, a whole new realm springs forth from the ashes. Enter the Degens — a new class of social adept, versed in the constantly re-invented tools of an ever accelerating economy.
Coinbase said they will unlikely profit from the film as any net proceeds would be donated to a non-profit organization. It went on ahead to say that the point of the series is to “reward and connect with our communities through projects that bring the ethos of Web3 to life: collaboration, transparency and opportunity.”
BAYC FILM RELEASE DATE.
The BAYC NFT movie is set to premiere in June 20th and 23rd of this year at NFT.NYC. The release of the movie will coincide with the launch of the new Coinbase NFT marketplace. Interested Bored Ape NFT holders can submit their NFTs along with their character descriptions to the Degen Trilogy Website for the audition. On the website, you are required to connect your coinbase wallet through your own coinbase account first.
Submissions were limited to only the Mutant Ape Yacht Club Owners who will do the same for part two of the series. Sadly, members of the Bored Ape Kennel Club were left out. Owners of the Bored Ape NFTs will be rewarded with $10,000 in Apecoin and Bitcoin in exchange for the token’s licensing rights. The license will be recorded on-chain and will continue with the Bored apes into the secondary market.
The crypto exchange, Coinbase has even gone ahead to set up a media division for the movie’s production, headed by entertainment and culture marketing director, William Swann. “We are dedicated to creating and supporting content projects that speak directly to our community and sustaining the culture of Web3 innovation,” said William Swann.
This interactive film series will act as a catalyst to bring as many people as possible to the crypto and NFT economy. It will help audiences understand the collaborative nature of Web3.
